Visit the Diorama Room where a life-size display introduces visitors to the life of St Mary MacKillop.

Visitors are invited to walk through this room listening to the recorded story of St Mary MacKillop and looking at five particular times in her life. 

Stay awhile and reflect on Mary’s courage, faith and commitment as she listened and responded to God’s call in her life.  

Groups of school children love to see and use the old student slates and blackboards, to make comparisons between then and now and to imagine the journey by sea to Rome. 

Opportunities abound to learn history, geography and much more in a different setting. 

Learn about the life of Sister Irene McCormack, the local WA Sister of St Joseph, who worked and died in Peru.

Everyone is invited to come along on a Sunday evening once a month to join in an hour of Taize meditation in this beautiful chapel, a place of peace and tranquillity where so many sense the presence of God in a special way.

Taizé Meditation will resume at the Convent Chapel in 2018.

There are opportunities to join the Sisters at daily Mass or to enjoy times of quiet prayer.

Visitors can sit in the cloister adjacent to the chapel and reflect on the life of Mary MacKillop, write a prayer of gratitude or petition in the book or be united in spirit with others who have asked for prayers. 

School Group Days

Children love these special days at the Mary MacKillop Centre.

Each day is individually designed to meet the needs of the group and includes stories, activities, prayer in the chapel and lunch and games in the garden. 

It could be: time away from school to prepare for the Sacraments; time to learn more about St Mary MacKillop our first Australian saint; an opportunity to hear the story of Irene McCormack, a Sister of St Joseph from WA who lived and worked in Peru and together with four Peruvians was executed in a remote mountain village in 1991.

Monday to Friday. Bookings are essential. Families, small groups, individuals: by appointment.
